Blend vs. Sweep

In terms of stretching fills between two surfaces, the Blend operation definitely reigns supreme due to its functionalities. But what are the alternatives for Blend? Users of HD2 may be tempted to use Conic Sweep between two surfaces. But what makes Sweep better than Blend?? In the clip, shown is the main advantage of the Sweep:



In case of modifications, there might appear inflexion points, which we can of course modify with Tensions, but that requires surface analysis upon each alteration of Parents. Conic Sweep stays Globally Convex no matter the input.

Of course, Blend is much more “tolerant” than Sweep, but in simple cases is a good alternative thanks to that very feature.
